What is the dress code for the wedding?

We’ve chosen a Creative Black Tie dress code to make our celebration elegant yet fun! Tuxedos are not expected—instead, feel free to add your personal flair. Think polished and sophisticated with a playful twist.

Wear something that makes you feel amazing, whether it’s a sleek suit, a bold tux, a stunning gown, a chic jumpsuit, or something uniquely you. Add a pop of color, a fun accessory, or a stylish twist to make it your own! Our main goal is for you to feel comfortable while embracing the opportunity to dress up.

Please note that the ceremony will take place outside on soft grassy ground, which may be helpful to consider if you plan on wearing heels.

Are children allowed at the wedding?

Our wedding is an adults-only event. While we LOVE your children, we have chosen to create an intimate and adult-focused atmosphere for this special occasion.

What about gifts?

We're grateful to those traveling from near and far to celebrate with us. Your presence is the greatest gift we could receive. If you wish to honour us further, there will be a wishing well at the reception.

Will transportation be provided to and from the venue?

Yes! We will be running optional guest shuttles from Rotorua Central out to the venue. See the Wedding Day page for details.

What is the plan for inclement weather?

We want to assure you that we have a plan in place to handle inclement weather for our wedding at the same location. While we are optimistic for a beautiful day, we live in the Bay of Plenty.

Where is the closest airport?

The Rotorua Regional Airport serves as a domestic airport, offering regular flights to and from major cities within New Zealand, such as Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch. It is also about a 3 hour drive from Auckland.

Does Rotorua really smell?

Yes, Rotorua is famous for its unique smell of sulfur, which is a result of the city's incredible geothermal activity. Situated in the Taupo Volcanic Zone, an area renowned for its volcanic and geothermal energy, Rotorua experiences a constant release of sulfur compounds into the air through its geothermal springs, geysers, and mud pools. This distinct odour is a testament to the city's geological heritage and natural forces.
